Organizing
I like organizing things. Here are some of the projects I'm involved with at the moment. If you see anything you like, get in touch!
Open Student Workshops on Global Priorities Research
(w/Bridget Williams), second iteration in June 2023
About: The Open Student Workshop on Global Priorities Research aims to help students from traditionally underrepresented groups learn about global priorities research, develop their research ideas, and equip them with the information and networks needed to succeed as global priorities researchers.
Please apply here by December 31, 2022. Research suggests that students from traditionally underrepresented groups are often hesitant to apply for opportunities that they are well qualified for. With that in mind, I'm happy to talk by email about fit for the workshop, but if you are on the fence I would strongly encourage you to apply!
About: The Global Priorities Institute hosts three annual workshops at Oxford on global priorities research. We are especially interested in work that overlaps with the institute's research agenda, particularly research on longtermism.
Our practice is to run an open call for attendees as often as we are able, posted jointly to the institute's website as well as to PhilEvents. You can read more about our workshops here, and if you're interested in learning more I'd encourage you to fill out an expression of interest here.
About: The Inquiry Network was founded in Fall 2020 with the goal of organizing events that provide an inclusive, and collaborative space to discuss philosophical work related to inquiry.
We organize a biweekly work-in-progress group in addition to other activities. See here for details as well as to sign up for our mailing list.
